How Cold-Pressed Juicing Changed My Life

Almost three years ago I began my job at Daily Juice. I was working a job with late hours, and it was far from my new apartment. I was also three months pregnant with my fourth child and decided I needed to stop working so late. My sister sent me a job post and said “Look, they close at seven!” So, I decided to check it out. I never heard of the company, so I did some research on it and discovered they sold healthy smoothies and juices. This was awesome. I was always a fan of smoothies. My favorite at the time was Pineapple Mango from a fast food chain. I also knew I could enjoy the healthy juices because I preferred V8 splash to any soda. I loved V8, it made me feel so healthy because it only contained fruits and veggies. During my interview I ordered a Berry Melon-O, a simple fruit-only smoothie. I was afraid of the other ingredients listed in the juices and smoothies there. That was three years ago.

Today, I have a new and healthier way of thinking. I was educated on what a real juice is. Seeing all those fruits and veggies blew my mind. I started learning why my “healthy” juice options were actually very unhealthy. I learned that they were high pressure processed (HPPed). I had never heard of this before. I did some research and found it to be true. High pressure processing is when the juice has been pasteurized to kill all of its living components, which includes its nutrients. This process is done in order to prevent spoilage. “Cold pressure” juices are just the same.  All stores, gyms, and spas that receive wholesale juices are required to carry pasteurized products. I have always said “bottled water tastes like plastic”. Now, I know I was right. That is because the water has been high pressure processed while it was in the package. Meaning, the chemicals from the packaging went right into the juice. So not only was I drinking juices that didn't contain nutrients, I was also drinking chemicals.

This is not the case at Daily Juice. The cold-pressed juices there are 100% real. I personally make the juices. I see all the pounds of fruits and vegetables it takes to make the juices. When the fruits and vegetables are pressed there is no heat applied and all of the nutrients and enzymes are squeezed out of each fruit and vegetable. In the end the pulp is completely dry. My mind and body have undergone many positive changes since I began drinking these real cold pressed juices. My energy is naturally high, my thinking is clear, my bad cravings are gone, and even my acne is clearing up. I am down five sizes since the peak of my pregnancy weight (Aug. 2016).

My family and I all eat better and drink real juice now. I have also made it a mission to educate people on the difference of cold pressed juices, high pressure processed juices, and clean and healthy living.
