What is a juice cleanse?

A juice cleanse is a set of days (often 3 or more) in which someone drinks fresh, nutrient-rich juice in place of meals in order to flush their system of toxins from bad food. In today’s world, the average consumer suffers from toxicity and deficiency. Refined carbohydrates and sugars, processed foods, alcohol, and caffeine remain largely undigested and linger in the body as toxins. The primary function of food is to supply us with energy and vitality, but now much of our food is laden with additives, preservatives, imitation flavorings, and other chemicals. The combination of these factors produces overwhelmed digestive systems and nutrient-deficient bodies. This is where a juice cleanse comes in! When experiencing our cleanse, your body’s digestive system receives easily absorbable antioxidants to combat damage from toxins, as well as the nutrient density needed to initiate correction of deficiency.

How do I do a juice cleanse?

On a juice cleanse you will drink six bottles of cold-pressed juice daily (each bottle contains 16oz). To allow for maximum nutrient absorption, we generally suggest you abstain from eating. Light snacking on a few select veggies is permissible if needed. Please reference our instruction sheet (this is a printout included with your cleanse) for tips and tricks to support your cleanse.

Can everyone do a juice cleanse?

If you have specific dietary needs, are pregnant or nursing, have food allergies, or are unsure if a cleanse is right for you, you should consult with your doctor. A cleanse is a great way to kick start your diet and reboot your body. You’ll be drinking vitamin and enzyme-rich juices that will provide your body with the nutrition it needs.

How many days should I do a juice cleanse?

If you have never cleansed before, we recommend starting with a 3 Day Standard Cleanse. Three days is enough time to really start to see all the amazing benefits of juicing occur, and it’s also a short enough length that you can complete it without having to devote the majority of a week on it. If that length seems like too much of a commitment, some of our customers prefer to start with a one or two-day cleanse. If you’re an experienced juicer or consuming plenty of raw fruits and vegetables already, we recommend choosing our 5 Day Juice Cleanse, 7 Day Juice Cleanse, or even our pros-only 10 Day Juice Cleanse! You can choose any number of days to fit your specific schedule. Don’t forget, cleansing is all about cleaning out your body of bad junk foods and getting in a much healthier mind frame! Pick the number of days that works best with you.

What is HPP and why we don't use it at Daily Juice?

Daily Juice does not use HPP (High Pressure Processing). HPP is a method used by most companies to lengthen the shelf life of juices and foods. However, it’s also believed to kill enzymes, nutrients, and cells. If your cleanse came from a grocery store shelf, it’s been HPP’d. Think of it this way, would you eat a salad that’s been sitting on a shelf for 28 days?

How is my juice shipped to me and what days can I get a cleanse delivered?

Because our juices must be consumed within days of being made, all of our cleanses must be shipped by FedEx Priority Overnight delivery. Though it should arrive to you by 10:30AM on your date of delivery, some customers (often in more rural areas) are outside of that time frame and will have their package delivered a bit later in the day. Additionally, though you can place your online order 24/7, you may only receive your delivery on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday (due to the freshness of our product.) If you are going to be at work, consider having your cleanse delivered to your workplace. We ship any juice cleanse that is more than four days long in multiple shipments. If you do choose a four-day cleanse, you need to start your cleanse the day you receive it, as opposed to being able to wait until the day after like you can with the 1, 2 or 3-day. If you live in Austin or Lakeway, Texas, or anywhere near one of our store locations, you can choose local pickup for any day of the week.

How much weight will I lose during a juice cleanse?

Although most people experience weight loss benefits, this is not about losing weight. This is a wellness journey where you can learn how your body reacts to juicing, clean eating, and plant-based and living-food diets.

Is this a colon cleanse?

No. Because you will be drinking so many liquids, you should expect frequent urination.

How do I know if juice cleansing is right for me?

If you feel you could use more of the benefits found above, then cleansing is right for you! Giving your body’s digestive system a break helps it focus on what it does best - healing itself with its own powerful functions. It’s not uncommon to experience greater energy and vitality, as well as a sense of well-being, greater mental clarity and decreased pain/discomfort. Luckily, doing a Juice Cleanse is fun and super-easy. Don’t be surprised if you fall in love with our juices!

What happens to me while I juice cleanse?

As you cleanse, the release of toxins may trigger some uncomfortable side effects such as headache, fatigue, nausea, gas, or bloating. Drinking pure water, taking an electrolyte supplement, or consuming clear broths or teas may help. But, as you continue your cleanse, the “side effects” are actually very positive: a feeling of lightness, expansiveness, joy, enthusiasm and increasing energy. You may even feel like cleaning your house from top to bottom!

How should I prepare to juice cleanse?

Make sure your cleanse days are right for you, and let those close to you know that you’ll be cleansing. You might want to politely request they not ask you to go out to eat or go to get drinks during your cleanse. Some people typically avoid cleansing on planned trips where it may be more difficult to keep refrigerated juices with them or to not eat out, so plan ahead. We do encourage you to start your cleanse with adequate electrolytes (from a supplement.) Electrolytes are special minerals that are used at a cellular level (especially nerve, heart, muscle) to maintain voltages across cell membranes and to carry electrical impulses (nerve impulses, muscle contractions) across themselves and to other cells. It’s a good idea to learn about your body’s pH and electrolytes before your cleanse. People who work out regularly generally understand the need to maintain an electrolyte balance in the body, and this balance is also important while cleansing to efficiently move toxins from your body. Electrolyte reserves can be easily measured with a simple pH test.

Who should not juice cleanse?

Cleansing is great for most people. There are a few exceptions, however. If you currently have any serious health challenges, it’s recommended to consult a (natural) health doctor to determine if a nutritional fast is suitable with your condition. Also, for women who are pregnant and/or lactating, nutritional fasting may not be ideal because caloric needs are much greater.

Can I eat while juice cleansing?

For optimal results, we recommend that you consume only juices during your cleanse. If you decide to eat during the cleanse, try to stick to healthy foods such as:

  • A few stalks of celery
  • Half of a cucumber
  • 1/4th of an avocado

Foods to avoid after a cleanse

Using common sense is your best tool in the days after your cleanse. Your body has only been taking in all-natural juices, so eating lots of bad, processed foods could make you feel sick. Here are some food you need to watch out for the days following your cleanse:

  • Alcohol
  • Sweets such as cake
  • Processed cereals
  • Oily or greasy food
  • Salt
  • Soft drinks
  • Sugar, white and processed
  • Artificial sweeteners

Can I exercise on a juice cleanse?

Yes, but listen to your body.  Some have no problems with regular exercise routine, other prefer light exercise while cleansing.  Cleansing is a good time to reflect and tune into your body’s needs.  Upon completion of your cleanse you may find a renewed vitality.

Can I take medication and vitamin supplements during my juice cleanse?

It is best to check with your physician about your medications. You can take your normal supplements, but you may not need them since the cleanse products meet your nutritional needs. Avoid any supplements that are protein-based or contain salt, soy, dairy or foods listed on the acid-forming foods list.

Should I have a colonic or enema during a juice cleanse?

It is a good idea to take a colonic/enema during your cleanse. As toxins are being released in your body, they go through the colon on the way out of your body. If your colon is in “toxin overload,” they may be reabsorbed into the bloodstream. A colonic or enema will help flush the toxins more rapidly. A cue that you need a colonic or enema is experiencing headaches, nausea or lethargy during the cleanse.

Am I going to experience any detox symptoms while juice cleansing?

Because everybody is different, everybody has a different experience (or reaction) while cleansing. In general, the more toxic you are, the more detox symptoms you may experience. That said, regardless of the degree of detoxification, the symptoms sometimes associated with it are totally normal. These symptoms are natural signs that your body is working hard to clean up your system. You aren’t getting sick, you’re getting better. Have you ever cleaned out a cluttered garage, office or closet? Remember the dust in the air and all the stored up stuff that gets strewn about while you’re organizing? The place usually looks a lot messier before you eventually get it all cleaned up, right? But once you’ve finished you have a freshly cleaned and organized space that is SO much more functional than it was before! Clearly worth the effort! Your detox will clear out a lot of clutter in your body, and you’re going to get lots of stuff moving! Toxins that have been stored in your fatty tissues for years will shake loose. They’ll enter your bloodstream looking for a passage out of your body and you’ll probably feel it! Here is a list of some of the most common cleansing reactions:

  • Headache
  • Colds/Flu symptoms
  • Fever/ Chills
  • Coughing
  • Gas and Bloating
  • Fatigue
  • Increased menstruation
  • Decreased menstruation
  • Cramps
  • Coated Tongue
  • Rashes
  • Excess ear wax
  • Excess nose gunk
  • Excess throat sludge
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Itchy skin
  • Red skin
  • Sleep interruption
  • Dizziness
  • Moods/irritation

Again, experiencing detox symptoms is totally normal. These symptoms are natural signs that your body is working hard to clean up your system. That’s the good news! Here are some things you can do to help alleviate detox symptoms:

  • Take a hot bath with Epsom Salt or Dr. Sigha’s Mustard Bath Powder. This will help flush toxins out more quickly by drawing them out through the skin.
  • Consider colon hydrotherapy. Elimination is extremely important in the detox process. If you are not eliminating easily and often (minimum of one daily full bowel movement, preferably more), then now is a good time to incorporate colon cleansing supportive therapies like colon hydrotherapy or at-home enemas.
  • Make sure you are drinking tons of water! This helps dramatically to flush toxins out of your system as quickly as possible.
  • Take a nap & get plenty of sleep. When we’re sleeping, our body can focus all of its energy on flushing out toxins more quickly.
  • Make & drink ginger tea. Ginger naturally helps any digestive disturbances including gas, bloating, nausea, etc. Simply thinly slice fresh ginger and boil it in water for about five minutes to make ginger tea.

How often should I juice cleanse?

As often as you’d like! As a rule of thumb, it is suggested to cleanse at least with the change of every season (4x/year) for a minimum of 3 days. If you’re doing that, kudos to you! In fact, it isn’t uncommon for many of our customers to do a 3 or 5-day cleanse every month, or even every other week. Easy-to-follow and nutritious juice cleanses offer amazing benefits each and every time they are done.

Cancellation and Refund Policy?

Due to the highly perishable nature of our products, we batch and prepare cleanses within 24 hours of your scheduled pickup. Our goal is to ensure you are getting the freshest cold pressed juice possible! If you cancel your order outside of our policy, we have more juice than our stores can sell, and we end up discounting or throwing out, which is a horrible waste of precious nutrients that could have otherwise healed a body.

HOME DELIVERIES
All sales are final on shipped juice cleanse orders that have been processed.

IN-STORE PICKUP
For a full refund on a batch of bottled juice, cancellation must be made a full 24 hours prior to the scheduled pickup time.

If cancellation is within the 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time, bottled juice is only 50% refunded (We will likely need to sell this juice at a discount!)

No refunds for bottled juice that is cancelled after the pickup time.

ORGANIC AND CUSTOM RECIPE ORDERS:
Due to the additional costs of an organic cleanse, as well as the fact that it is a highly perishable specialty product, all sales are final, unless cancelled at least 48 hours before pickup.

SAME DAY CLEANSES AND JUICE ON HOLD
Customers may call ahead and ask a Daily Juice employee to pull a 1-day juice cleanse from the store’s inventory (if available) and set it aside for pickup. However, we can only guarantee bottled juice will be held if the customer pays with a credit card over the phone.
